Development
VisNow visualization software has been originally designed and developed from scratch by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling at the University of Warsaw. At first, it was just a small library of Java classes, created by dr Krzysztof Nowiński, used for visualization purposes in other applications.
Since 2020 VisNow development made a step towards the open-source community and is now developed by the visnow.org association, still with significant contribution from ICM and the original VisNow team!
Current development group at ICM UW:
- Krzysztof Nowiński
- Bartosz Borucki
- Norbert Kapiński
- Jędrzej Nowosielski
Creating your own modules [legacy material]
VisNow framework enables users to create their own modules and integrate them with the application.
A new module can be created as a modification of a specially prepared template and after packaging and describing libraries in XML, can be integrated into the main application just by opening a JAR library file.
Available resources for module programming are as follows:
- VisNow source code (NetBeans project)
- Plugin module template (NetBeans project)
- Module creation documentation (including module API)
- Data formats and API documentation
- Port acceptor/schema documentation
- Training materials - Module programming
- Training materials - Programming setup
